City Councilman Mike Klinghammer Files to Run for County Council

Filings closed Monday for the county council positions.

Filings closed Monday for the St. Charles County Council elections with opposed races in each district.

St. Charles City Councilman Mike Klinghammer, Ward-6, is running for St. Charles County Council against incumbent Jerry Daugherty, the council's only Democrat. 

There will be no August primary race for District 6. However, the County Council’s only Democrat, Jerry Daugherty, will face a Republican challenger in November, St. Charles City Councilman Mike Klinghammer, Ward 8.

In District 2, Republican incumbent Joe Brazil will run in the primary against Republican Bob Stephens, who owns Compare Automotive Muffler in Wentzville.

District 4 Council incumbent Paul Wynn will face a Republican challenger inDave Hammond, formerly chief building inspector for St. Charles County.

Michael Lloyd Boyd is unopposed in the Democratic primary for District 4 and will run in November against the winner of the Republican primary in August.

Wynn has worked at a job as a military contractor in Afghanistan since October. He was laid off from a position at Scott Air Force Base. He participates in most meetings via telephone and communicates with constituents through email, telephone and computer links.

Before the ballot is finalized, the filings must be certified by the St. Charles County Election Authority to ensure all candidates are eligible to run for the elected offices.
