Teens Return to St. Charles Home to Rob Party Host , Police Say

St. Charles Police said three teens assaulted a man in his home and took $195 and a small amount of marijuana.

Three teens assaulted a man in his St. Charles home June 18 after a party, stealing cash and marijuana.

Timothy Penland, 17, of the first block of Bee Jay Lane in St. Charles, and Darrian D. Johnson, 19, of the 1400 block of North Third Street in St. Charles, were charged June 18 with second-degree robbery.

St. Charles Police they also have identified a juvenile who took part in the robbery.

Police said the three devised a plan to return to a home in the 600 block of North Sixth Street, in order to rob a person who lives there. They had attended a party there during the evening of June 17.

Police said they went to the man’s residence at about 1:30 a.m. and told the man they were looking for a missing wallet and thought they left it behind.

Once inside, the three men assaulted the man, who received a cut, scrapes and bruises on his face, according to a court document. Police said Penland held the man down while the juvenile took $195 from the man’s pockets. They also stole a small amount of marijuana, police said.

Police located Penland, Johnson and the juvenile, and recovered some of the cash, according to a court document.

Penland and Johnson are being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail has been set at $25,000 for both men.
