St. Charles Woman Killed in Three-Car Crash

Jill E. Gunsten, 26, was pronounced dead at Mercy Hosptial in Creve Coeur just before 9 p.m.

A St. Charles woman died following a three-vehicle crash in on Interstate 70 in Warren County on Friday afternoon.

Jill E. Gunsten, 26, was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur just before 9 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Gunsten was heading eastbound on Interstate 70 at mile marker 198.7 at 3:16 p.m.. The Highway Patrol said she lost control of her 2009 Honda Fit and the car traveled off the left side of the roadway and the through the cable median. Gunsten's car then entered the westbound lanes of I-70 and struck a second car, a 1997 Toyota Celica drive by Leonard T. Gregis, 48, of Centralia.

A third car, a 2007 Toyota Corolla driven by Jennifer Coldorn, 31, of Jonesburg, struck the rear of Gregis's car. 

Gunsten was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur by Arch and was later pronounced dead. Gregis was transported to Barnes-Jewish in St. Louis, also by Arch, and is listed as being in serious condition.

All three vehicles were totaled in the crash. The Highway Department said that all three drivers were wearing safety devices.
