St. Charles Police Reports: Nov. 8-15

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

  • St. Charles police arrested someone who was at the corner of First Capitol Drive and Interstate 70 who was begging for money from occupants of motor vehicles on Nov. 11 at 8:31 a.m.
  • An underage woman was found using another person's ID to get into Main Street Bistro on Nov. 10.
  • Police arrested two men for urinating in public on Nov. 11. One man was urinating on the lower level of the city parking garage on around 12:17 a.m. Another man was located urinating on the side of a building on North Main Street and was arrested at 1:22 a.m.
  • A fight broke out near 142 North Main Street around 12:09 a.m. Nov. 12. One suspect fled the scene and was caught and tased, according to the police log. Two other suspects were taken into custody.

Assault

  • An 18-year-old student reportedly removed his pants and underwear and placed his naked behind on the head of another student around 10:10 a.m. Nov. 8, according to the police log. "Once school staff was involved, the suspect threatened to physically harm the victim," the police log said.

Property Damage

  • Property damage to a front storm door of a building on Salem Drive was reported around 8 p.m. Nov. 9.

Stealing

  • Four people entered Dorsey's Corner Market on North Second Street around 2:40 p.m. Nov. 9 and stole jewelry valued at $360. Two people kept the owner busy with questions while others took the items.
  • A 22-year-old woman was told she was being paid to be a secret shopper and lost $2,600 through wire fraud.
  • A man reported scaffolding valued at $2,875 was taken from a home in the 700 block of North Kingshighway between Nov. 1 and Nov. 7.
  • A 40-year-old man reported that a nine-millimeter semi-automatic handgun was taken from a home on Mackey Wherry Street. The suspect reportedly took it to school and gave it to another person, according to the police log. The gun was taken between Oct. 10 and Nov. 9.
  • About $300 was stolen from a motor vehicle parked in the Ameristar Casino parking garage. The items were reportedly stolen between 10:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and 12:50 a.m. Nov. 10. 
  • A 50-year-old man reported his tailgate from his truck, valued at $3,000, was taken between Nov. 9 and Nov. 10. 
  • Police arrested a man for attempting to steal two packages of cookies around 7:30 a.m. Nov. 11 from the One Stop Liquor store on North Third Street. 
  • About $750 in jewelry was reportedly stolen from Native Traditions Gallery on Main Street between 3:15 and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 11.
  • A woman reported on Nov. 12 that her vehicle was taken by a suspect to be repaired, but now the suspect cannot be located and the vehicle has not been returned. 
  • Copper grounding bar was stolen from AT&T tower on Veterans Memorial Parkway between 12:51 a.m. Nov. 14 and 8 a.m. Nov. 15. Cables were cut that interrupted service to the tower, according to the police log.

Shoplifting of Alcohol

  • A woman was taken into custody on suspicion of stealing $11 in alcohol from Dierbergs around 4:10 p.m. Nov. 11.
  • A 12 pack of Miller Lite was reportedly taken from Walmart around 10:30 Nov. 11. 
  • Two people reportedly took $58 in alcohol from Schnucks Nov. 12 around 6:13 p.m. One person was arrested.
  • About $70 in alcohol was reportedly taken from Bombay on First Capitol Drive around 10:56 p.m. Nov. 12.
