St. Charles Police Reports Jan. 25-26

Police arrest minors for fighting, having alcohol.

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Fight

  • St. Charles Police responded to a fight in the city parking garage at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 25.
  • Police found several minors gathering and fighting in the area of Houston Street and Fielding Street on Jan. 26 around 2:30 p.m. They were in possession of alcohol.

Assault

  • A 23-year-old man was assaulted and sustained facial injuries including damage to front teeth and a laceration on the inside and outside of the lip on Jan. 25. A suspect was placed in custody.

Property Damage

  • Windows were reportedly broken at a business on Harry S. Truman Blvd. between 5 p.m. Jan. 14 and 8 a.m. Jan. 15.
  • A 30-year-old man reported his vehicle tires were slashed and paint scratched in a parking lot on Ameristar Blvd. between 1 a.m. and 7:51 a.m. Jan. 25.
  • An expended pistol round was found in a storage trailer in the 2100 block of First Capitol Drive between 6 a.m. Jan. 25 and noon Jan. 26. The pistol entered through the roof of the trailer.

Stealing

  • About 20 vehicle batteries valued at about $1,500 were stolen from a business on Veterans Memorial Parkway between 1:15 and 3 p.m. Jan. 25.
  • Stereo equipment and power tools were reportedly stolen from an unlocked car parked on McDonough overnight between 10 p.m. Jan. 24 and 9 a.m. Jan. 25.
  • An iPod was stolen from a vehicle left unlocked in the 400 block of Quentin Drive between 9 p.m. Jan. 25 and 7 a.m. Jan. 26.
  • A cab driver reported a customer failed to pay cab fare after the person's credit card was denied several times. The incident happened Dec. 20 but was reported Jan. 25.
  • Jewelry and electronics valued at $1,925 were stolen from a home on Riverview Lane sometime between Jan. 5 and 26. 
  • A 73-year-old woman reportedly had her purse stolen from her unattended shopping cart at Mid-Towne IGA between 9:20 and 9:30 a.m. Jan. 26.
  • A 53-year-old man reported a computer was stolen from a nursing home on West Clay Street sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Jan. 25. 
  • Seven locks were reportedly stolen from Public Storage on South Old Highway 94 between 4 p.m. Jan. 25 and 4 p.m. Jan. 26.

DWI

  • Police arrested the driver of a vehicle that came to a stop at a green light with no other traffic at South Fifth Street on Jan. 25 around 12:20 a.m. for Driving While Intoxicated.
  • Police arrested someone for felony DWI after the driver completed an illegal u-turn on Eastbound Interstate 70 at First Capitol Drive on Jan. 25.

Identity Theft

  • A 24-year-old woman reported that her mother used her information to obtain utilities.
  • A 32-year-old man reported on Jan. 26 that his Visa check card number was stolen and used in St. Louis and Belleville, IL areas.

Shoplifting

  • A woman was arrested for shoplifting a number of hair care products including Paul Mitchell shampoo, color protector and hair spray from a business in the 2000 block of Zumbehl Road around 2:20 p.m. Jan. 25. The woman was taken into custody and released on summons.

Peace Disturbance

  • A 19-year-old woman who lives on Olive Street in St. Charles reported peace disturbance and threats over the phone on Jan. 23. The incident was reported Jan. 25.
