St. Charles Police Reports Jan. 18-19

Suspect arrested for having open container of beer while parked at parole office. Also, burglaries reported on Bismark, Cedarbrook and Pinedale.

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Assault

  • Police arrested a 42-year-old man for assaulting an Ameristar security agent and trespassing on Jan. 18 around midnight.
  • A 22-year-old man was arrested for grabbing the buttocks of a security officer at on Jan. 19 around 3:15 a.m.

Driving While Intoxicated

  • Police arrested a man for driving while intoxicated after his vehicles truck the center median island on South Fifth Street between eastbound 70 and Veterans Memorial Parkway on Jan. 18 around 2 a.m.

Open Container

  • Police arrested someone for having an open container on Jan. 18 around 10:40 a.m. The suspect was on the lot of the at Compass Point Drive drinking a beer in the vehicle.

  • A woman reported someone put sugar in her gas tank between Jan. 12 and Jan. 18. Her car was parked on Nancy Drive.
  • A front glass window was broken out of a business in the 300 block of North Main Street around 2 a.m. Jan. 19.
  • Car tires were slashed on two cars parked at Greendale Drive and Greendale Park between 5:30 p.m. Jan. 18 and 4:30 a.m. Jan. 19.

Burglary

  • A 28-year-old woman reported someone entered her unlocked car parked on Bismark Drive on Jan. 19 around 3:47 a.m. and stole Marlboro Light Cigarettes, bottle fuel injector cleaner and a Kama Sutra book.
  • About $454 in property was reportedly stolen from a home at Cedarbrook Drive between midnight Jan. 17 and 10 p.m. Jan. 19.  Thieves reportedly stole dishes, a side table, records, a rocking chair, love seat, horse bridals, a horse halter, a lead rope and wicker basket. The front door was forced open and the downstairs storage room was also burglarized.
  • A man reported his home in the 100 block of Pinedale was burglarized between 9:30 p.m. Jan. 19 and 6 a.m. Jan. 20. Electronic items and gift cards were taken.

Stealing

  • on Fifth Street reported someone left without paying for $38 in gas around 11:30 a.m. Jan. 18.
  • A man reported someone broke into his car that was parked unlocked on Longbow Trail in St. Charles and stole cash, a GPS, debit cards, credit cards and car wash tokens. The incident was reported on Jan. 18 but apparently happened between Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Jan. 17.
  • A woman reported hydrocodone and other drugs were stolen from her home at Salem Drive between 7 p.m. Jan. 18 and 11 a.m. Jan. 19.
  • Jewelry was stolen from a home at Diekamp Farms Trail. A suspect was a guest in the home, according to the police blotter.
  • A man driving a car that had been reported stolen to St. Louis City Police in December stole about $40 in gas from a gas station on Elm Street on Jan. 19.
  • A purse was reportedly stolen from the trunk of a car parked in the 2800 block of West Clay sometime between 6:50 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Jan. 20.

Fraud

  • Police responded to a Main Street business to investigate a report of fraud. Someone had used the business checking account to make more than 26 transactions in California between Jan. 17 and 18.

Shoplifting

  • A juvenile reportedly stole candy from a store at Hawthorne Ave. around 5 p.m. Jan. 18.
  • Police took a woman into custody for allegedly shoplifting about $400 in goods from on Jan. 18 around 8 p.m.
  • A restaurant on Veterans Memorial Parkway reported someone failed to pay their $28 bill for a meal on Jan. 19 around 9 p.m.
  • A package of razors was reportedly stolen from on Zumbehl Jan. 19 around 1 p.m.

Dogs

  • Police responded to a complaint about a dog who was running loose on Kennett Drive on Jan. 19.
  • Police responded to a complaint that a pitbull was running loose around Perry and Oak Streets on Jan. 19.

Informational Report

  • A 48-year-old woman reported that she was followed out of a gas station to her house by an unknown man around 4:30 p.m. Jan. 16.
