St. Charles Police Reports Dec. 15-21

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Assault

  • A woman was assaulted in the lot of the old Denny's restaurant on Fifth Street in St. Charles between 11:15 p.m. and 12:20 a.m. Dec. 14.
  • A person was arrested for assaulting a security guard by punching him in the arm at Ameristar around 1 a.m. Dec. 17.

Burglary

  • A woman reported someone entered her house on Capitol Ct. through an unlocked garage between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 13 and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 14 and stole cash and a purse. The woman's credit card was used to purchase gas.
  • A woman reported someone entered her home in the 1700 block of Watson Street through an unlocked bathroom window between 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Dec. 14 and stole about $110.
  • A man reported someone entered his home on Runnymede Drive through an unlocked door between 11:30 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. Dec. 15 and stole about $360 and a credit card.
  • Firearms, office equipment and money were reportedly stolen from a house on South Benton Avenue between 8:30 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. Dec. 19.

  • A person reported his Christmas lights were cut on the outside porch of his home on Burr Street in St. Charles between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 14.
  • Christmas decorations were reportedly damaged at a home on Birch Tree Drive around 9:30 p.m. Dec. 18.
  • Christmas decorations were reportedly removed from the gutter of a home on Rebecca Drive and broken on the driveway. The incident happened between 7 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. Dec. 18.
  • Christmas lawn ornaments were reportedly damaged at a home on Holiday Lane in St. Charles. The incident happened around midnight Dec. 18.

Property Damage

  • The door lock at the former St. Charles City Water Works Building on South Main Street was reportedly broken between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. Dec. 17. Nothing was observed missing or out of place, according to the report.
  • The front windshield of a car parked in the 700 block of South Main Street was smashed by a large rock. The incident was reported at 9 a.m. Dec. 17.
  • The lower half of an ATM on South St. Peters Parkway was pried off to reveal the safe around 1:45 a.m. Dec. 19.

Stealing

  • A shoplifting incident was reported from Schnucks on Zumbehl around 4 p.m. Dec. 16. Items such as alcohol, cookie dough, Reese's Pieces, gum and peanut butter were among the things stolen.
  • A 22-year-old man reported his debit card had been stolen out of his vehicle, which was parked in front of Club Fitness on Bass Pro Drive between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dec. 2. The card was used five times at various businesses and then was canceled by the victim. The incident was reported Dec. 16.
  • An inflatable advertisement was stolen from the front of a business at Ford Lane between 5 and 6 p.m. Dec. 16.
  • An 87-year-old woman's checkbook was missing on Dec. 9 and since then more than $2,000 in checks and more than $3,000 in credit card transactions were reported.
  • A copper backflow preventer and regulator from an exterior sprinkler system were stolen from Hampsted Ct. in St. Charles between 4 p.m. Dec. 18 and 7 a.m. Dec. 19. 
  • Someone stole the change from the inside of a car which was left unlocked and parked on Kennett Drive on Dec. 20 Someone stole a chain saw that was left in front of a tree service truck parked at Barthel Street while crews worked on power line access on Dec. 20.
  • A shoplifter was arrested for reportedly stealing $72 in clothing and other items from Target on Dec. 20.
  • Two men were arrested for arrested for stealing $36 worth of items from Wal-Mart and for trespassing at the store after being given a no trespass warning for a previous incident.

Arrests

  • Police arrested someone for having an open container of alcohol on North Second Street in St. Charles at 1:14 a.m. Dec. 14.
  • Police arrested someone for attempting to use a fake ID on North Main Street around 11:30 p.m. Dec. 15.
  • Police arrested someone for urinating in public on North Main Street in St. Charles at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 16.
  • Police arrested someone from urinating in public on First Capitol Drive around 9:30 p.m. Dec. 14.
  • Police reported to an incident of public urination on Monroe Street around 12:30 a.m. Dec. 18.
  • Police arrested two juveniles who were in possession of heroin at the Mobile on the Run on South Fifth Street around 5:30 p.m. Dec. 14.
  • Police arrested someone who was intoxicated in the police station lobby for disturbing the peace after he refused to stop cursing, according to the police log. The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. Dec. 15.
