St. Charles Police Look for Theft Victims

Police have recovered electronics stolen from unlocked cars.

St. Charles Police have seized many items stolen from unlocked vehicles in the past three weeks in parts of St. Charles and St. Peters after arresting four people suspected of those thefts.

Police are now asking residents who may have had items stolen from their unlocked vehicles to contact them to view the stolen property. Items that have been stolen include navigation systems, DVD players, cameras and cell phones among other electronic items, according to a press release from the police department.

The items were stolen from an area bounded by Timberidge Drive in the north, Muegge Road on the east, Highway 94 on the south and Jungermann Road on the West. It includes the Diekamp Farm Trails, Hackman Estates and McClay Valley neighborhoods.

The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's office charged two men, Justin M. Culver, 8 Santa Ynez Court in St. Charles, and Alexander L. Bunjan, of 8 Santa Ynez Court in St. Charles, with felony stealing on June 6.

A Dell computer worth $1,000, two Garmin GPS systems worth $350 and a wallet were taken from a house in the 3000 block of Apple Blossom, according to a probable cause statement signed by St. Charles Police Officer Brian Morrissey.

Bunjan, Culver and two others are responsible for numerous thefts during the past few weeks, according to the probable cause statement. Additional charges are expected. Bond was set at $15,000, cash only, with 10 percent authorized.
