St. Charles Man Indicted on Two Counts of Domestic Assault

St. Charles Police said Ali Hadi Abaalharith, in the country on a student visa, beat his former girlfriend twice within seven months.

A St. Charles County grand jury indicted a man Friday on two counts of second-degree domestic assault.

Ali Hadi Abaalharith, 26, of the 300 block of Scenic Drive in St. Charles, is accused of beating his then girlfriend on two occasions.

St. Charles Police said Abaalharith on April 7, 2012 struck the woman repeatedly in the face, head and legs and choked her for at least 30 seconds.

Then, police said he struck the same woman with a leather belt, a computer power cord, grabbed her cell phone and tried to restrict her to the bedroom.

Abaalharith is from Saudi Arabia and is in the United States on a student visa.
