St. Charles Man Indicted for Manufacturing Meth

Man Charged with Endangering Welfare of Children

A grand jury indicted Patrick Toby Ainley Friday, accusing him of manufacturing methamphetamines in a St. Charles home while two young children were present.

Ainley, 35, of St. Charles, was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

St. Charles County Regional Drug Task Force Members entered Ainsley’s house in the 1000 block of Lindenwood on April 13 and found chemicals consistent with the manufacture of meth in a glass vessel that had been warming on the stove, according to a probable cause statement signed by Detective P. Sansone, of the St. Charles County Regional Drug Task Force.

The glass vessel had been dropped on the floor before detectives entered the home, according to the probable cause statement. Two children, H.P., 9, and A.V., 6, were in the house.

An arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 27.

Man Charged with Resisting Arrest

Jacoby Lanelle Hopkins, 29, of Berkely, was charged with resisting arrest for a felony after fleeing on April 22  at a high rate of speed. He had two felony warrants out for his arrest, according to the probable cause statement.

Hopkins posted $20,000 bond. An arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 20.

Warrent Issued for Man Sending Sexual Images to Child

Keith Alan Jackson, 45, of Whispering Pines, NC, has been charged with seven counts of sexual misconduct involving a child under 15.

Jackson is accused of sending images of his penis and masturbating via a live web cam over the internet to Det. Marsha Corley, of the St. Charles County Cyber Crime Unit, who was posing as a 14-year-old girl.  

According to a probable cause statement signed by Corley, this happened numerous times between Oct. 4, 2010 and April 19. A warrant for Jackson’s arrest has been issued.

 Smith Charged With Trespassing at Orchard Farm High School

Colby Dennis Smith, 18, of St. Charles, was charged Friday with trespassing in the first degree and assault in the third degree.  

According to a probable cause statement signed by Deputy Tom Ban of the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department, Smith came into Orchard Farm High School unlawfully on April 22 and threatened and attempted to assault a male teacher. He then left the building and threatened a male teacher in the parking lot.

An arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. June 20.

St. Charles Man Charged with Burglary, Assault

Michael Garvin Grass, 21, of St. Charles was charged Friday with burglary in the first degree, assault in the second degree and armed criminal.

According to a probable cause statement signed by Police Officer McLanahan of the St. Charles Police Department, Glass entered into the house in the 3000 block of West Adams for the purposes of committing assault and hit a man on the head with a bottle. Bond was set at $50,000.

A disposition hearing is scheduled at 9 a.m. May 18.
