Probation for St. Charles Man That Fractured Man's Jaw Over Cell Phone Argument

Dominic Ewing was placed on five years probation after pleading guilty to second-degree assault.

A 19-year-old who fractured a man’s jaw with a punch on Feb. 20 pleaded guilty April 26 to second-degree assault.

St. Charles County Circuit Court Judge Ted House suspended sentencing April 26 and placed Dominic Ewing on five years probation. Ewing, of the first block of Buckingham Place in St. Charles, also must have no contact with the victim, pay restitution within two years, go through any recommended substance abuse treatment and maintain full-time job or education.

St. Charles Police said Ewing was upset over the whereabouts of his cell phone, so he lured the man to a secluded parking lot at 1700 block of North 4th Street in St. Charles. He then hit the man in the chest and jaw. The punch broke the man’s jaw, causing a compound fracture that cut the man’s ear, according to a court documents.
