A St. Charles man faces criminal charges after police said he attacked his wife and his mother-in-law Sunday.
Shawn Sept, 33, of the 1900 block of Santa Fe in St. Charles, was charged Monday with two counts of third-degree domestic assault.
St. Charles Police said Sept and his wife and mother-in-law were arguing when Sept began punching his wife. When his mother-in-law tried to get him to stop, he slapped her and continued assaulting his wife by hitting and biting her, according to the police report.
Police said he stopped the assault after his mother-in-law got him in a choke-hold and a neighbor was able to get him to calm down.
Police said Sept has previous arrests for domestic violence.
Bail was set at $5,000, cash only, and Sept is to have no contact with the victims.
