St. Charles Man Accused of Burglary

Police said man took North Face jacket and Ray-Ban sunglasses.

A St. Charles man was charged with burglary and stealing after police said he took a jacket and sunglasses from a car May 7 from a St. Charles home.

said in a report that Nathaniel Reed went into a garage in the 1700 block of Tree Top Drive while the owner was at home. Reed entered a car in the garage and took a North Face jacket and Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Later, an officer saw Reed driving his vehicle, which matched a description of the suspect’s vehicle. The officer said in a report that as he pulled the car over, he saw the driver put something down his pants. When he approached the car, he saw the stolen jacket and sunglasses in the car.

During a pat down search, a prescription bottle fell out of Reed’s pants. Reed told the officer he is and said he stole to support his habit, according to the police report.
