St. Charles Crime Reports Aug. 10-16

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Robbery

  • Police are searching for a man who robbed the at knife-point just after 1 a.m. Aug. 13. The man entered the gas station, held the clerk at knife-point and emptied the cash register and took two packs of cigarettes. He matches the description of a similar robbery at a PetrolMart last week. The man is described as white, between the ages of 35 and 45, with a skinny build,. He was unshaven, had a mustache, and was wearing a long sleeve red shirt, work gloves, a camouflage hat with a towel covering his hair and ears. 
  • A 20-year-old man attempting to shoplift items from in St. Charles on Aug. 10 was stopped by asset protection associates in the store. While he was filling out paperwork, the man forced open the door of the room, throwing two carts and a trashcan as he ran out of the store. The associate suffered a cut. 

Burglary 

  • Police are investigating two burglaries of trailers located off of Overbrook Drive on Aug. 12.  A 45 caliber pistol was taken from a trailer the first block of Overbrook, and medication, clothing and personal items were taken from a trailer in the 40th block of Overbrook. Police said the victims knew the woman who is suspected of breaking in. 
  • A debit card, a visa card, cash and a cell phone were reportedly stolen from a house in the 500 block of South Eighth Street. The burglary was reported at 11:43 a.m. Aug. 1. Police suspect the thief entered through an unlocked rear kitchen door and removed the items from the counter. 
  • A man reported a necklace, bracelet and $300 were stolen from a home in the 800 block of Cunningham Avenue. The theft was reported at 9:41 p.m. Aug. 10 by a third party who said the victim was out of the country. 

Stealing

  • A wallet was reportedly taken from someone who was at Brick City Bar, 140 North Main Street. The theft was reported Aug. 11 at 6:17 p.m.  
  • Someone walked out of in the early hours of Aug. 10 without paying a bar tab. 
  • Someone reported that a wallet, debit card and gift card were stolen from a car parked in the 200 block of South Kingshighway. The car did not show signs of forced entry.
