Residents Arrive Home as Intruder Was in Bedroom, Police Say
St. Charles Police said the teen is a suspect in multiple thefts from cars and has been arrested at least two other times in the past six months.
St. Charles residents arrived home Nov. 14 as a 17-year-old man was in their bedroom in the 2800 block of Westminster Drive. The man escaped with a large amount of coins, but was picked up by police later.
Sean Higgins, 17, of the 1100 block of Vine Street in St. Charles, was charged Nov. 15 with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft.
St. Charles Police said Higgins stole $200 to $300 in change. An officer noted in the report that Higgins has been arrested two or three times in the past six months for stealing, and is a suspect in about 20 thefts from cars in the area.

Higgins is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bond was set at $20,000, cash only.
