Police Reports: Mailboxes Knocked Down at 10 Homes

St. Charles Police Reports are provided by St. Charles Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. 

Several mailboxes were damaged overnight around 2 a.m. July 12 in neighborhoods off of Hemsath Road and Friedens Road. 

In each of the nine reported incidents, the brick structure surrounding the mailbox was pushed over and broken on impact with the ground. Mailboxes at one home on Montclair Manor Drive, four houses on Bentley Ridge Ct., one on Eagles Spur Ct, one on Eagle Forest Drive, one on Ashley Place Ct. and two on Ashley Woods Drive were damaged.

Fugitive Arrests

  • Police responded to a complaint of a man spitting and throwing up over the third story balcony of a building at Ameristar Blvd around 1:50 a.m. July 11. The man was arrested because he was wanted for stealing a vehicle.
  • Police responded to a complaint of a noise disturbance in the 6000 block of Fox Chase Drive around 3:15 a.m. July 11. The person listening to a stereo at a loud volume had outstanding warrants and was arrested.

Peace Disturbance

  • Police arrested an intoxicated man for peace disturbance in the emergency room at around 5:44 a.m. July 11. 
  • Police responded to a peace disturbance in front of the at North Second Street around 11 a.m. July 11. 

Property Damage

  • Property damage was reported at an apartment in the 2300 block of Gallaher Avenue between 8 a.m. and 4:47 p.m. July 11. 

Stealing 

  • An $80 camera was reported stolen from Ameristar Hotel between 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. July 11.
  • A 21-year-old man reported that someone broke into his vehicle while it was parked on South Riverside Drive and a GPS was stolen and tools were taken from the bed of his truck sometime before 11 p.m. July 11.
  • A GPS unit was stolen out of an unlocked car sometime between 10 p.m. July 10 and 11:30 p.m. July 11. The owner of the GPS and the vehicle were out of the country and the incident was discovered by friends.
  • A 34-year-old man reported someone entered his work vehicle and stole multiple tools while it was parked at Gary Ct. between 10 p.m. July 11 and 6 a.m. July 12.
  • Tools were reportedly stolen from a building in the 1700 block of North 4th Street between 8:30 p.m. July 11 and 7 a.m. July 12.

Assault

  • Police arrested a man for assault in the third degree for apparently hitting his girlfriend in the head with the door to the room in the 2000 block of Zumbehl Road around 9 p.m. July 11.
