Police: Man Choked Girlfriend with Belt, Hands

St. Louis County Police said the man also fought with officers who arrested him.

A West County man faces criminal charges after police said he choked his girlfriend with his belt and with his hands, injuring her.

Gabriel Mills, 35, of Carriage Creek Court in unincorporated St. Louis County near Valley Park, was charged Sunday with second-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest.

St. Louis County Police said when officers attempted to arrest Mills, he fought with and kicked the arresting officers.

Mills is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $20,000.

I find it amazing that apparently only men are capable of domestic violence and apparently they initiate this violence without any provocation whatsoever. Odd that there is no 'incitement to commit domestic violence' crime with similar penalties. Not saying there isn't a gender bias. I am saying it isn't absolute. Demonizing men as VAWA does and encourages is misandrist to its core. What do the cops do when two lesbians fight?

FYI monkey I left him in jail to serve the sentence and I testified!!! I may have been victimized but not all women fall into the stereotypical role and fall back into abusive relationships. I hope that your mother, sister, daughter, or friend go through the same terror I experienced and we will see if you change your tune. You must be a miserable person if you have nothing better to do than make fun of someone else's problems at 3:28am on a Sunday morning.
