Police: Employee, Girlfriend Kick Up Ruckus at Gas Station

Police said the man assaulted another employee and resisted arrest while his girlfriend from St. Charles tried to prevent his arrest.

A Fastlane employee attacked another employee July 30 at gas station at 301 Salt Lick Road in St. Peters.

said Douglas Hoops Jr., 19, punched the other employee in the eye, threw items at him, damaged displays and merchandise and threatened the other employee.

When police arrived, Hoops hit an officer and spit on him, according to court documents. Hoops also resisted being put in the patrol car, and the car’s window by slamming his head into it, bending the window guide, according to a police statement.

Hoops’ girlfriend, Michaelle Grayson, 23, of St. Charles, arrived after the arrest and began screaming at officers, police said. She ignored commands to step away from the car and was escorted away and told she would be arrested if she continued, police said in the report.

Police said she continued and was arrested. After being placed in the patrol car, police said she kicked the rear driver’s side window, knocking it off its track.
