Paramedics, First Responders Recognized at Life Savers Awards

St. Charles County honored effort from two paramedics to save man who was in cardiac arrest.

Two St. Charles County Ambulance District Paramedics were recognized for their life-saving efforts last May at the First Annual Lifesavers Awards May 18 at Lumiere Place.

Paradmedics Donna Larson and Kevin Griffith responded to a 911 call from Yvonne Fagan on May 31, 2011. Yvonne was driving her 52-year-old husband Dave to the hospital because he was experiencing chest pain. When he became unresponsive, Yvonne pulled into and called 911.

Donna Lorson and Kevin Griffith found Dave Fagan in cardiac arrest. Paramedic supervisor Laura Sicking also responded and resuscitated Fagan after conducting three shocks. He was released from the hospital June 7, 2011.

This incident was submitted as an event worth of recognition to the Life Savers Awards where six other counties and the city of St. Louis also recognized life-saving incidents.
