Police Interrupt Burglary in Progress

A neighbor noticed two men break into a house on Pretoria Court by throwing a large stone or rock at a window around 4:50 p.m. April 5, said St. Charles Police Lt. Mike Akers. Police in the area responded to the call and got into a foot pursuit with both suspects. One man was taken into custody. A second suspect is still at large and a laptop computer worth $2,000 is missing. 

Credit Card, Cash Stolen

A customer at the ProColour Hair Salon at 317 Droste Road had a credit card and $100 in cash taken from her wallet while she was at the salon April 1, according to St. Charles Police Lt. Mike Akers. The card was being used at the Petrol Mart at 1190 Droste Road and a suspect was arrested. 

Attempted Burglary

Police said two people entered Duchesne High School around 11:45 p.m. April 1 through an unlocked door and attempted to take a television. A janitor saw the pair who dropped the television and left. 

Rolling Domestic Assault

According to Lt. Mike Akers, a man and women were driving on Interstate 70 when the man grabbed the steering wheel and forced it into oncoming traffic around 1:30 p.m. April 3. A police officer stopped the vehicle and the 24-year-old man was arrested. Akers said police have applied for warrants. 

50-Foot Tractor Trailer Reported Missing

A business located in the 3800 block of Fountain Lakes Parkway reported a 50-foot tractor trailer as stolen at 2:30 p.m. April 4. The warehouse manager told police that the trailer was being leased from Wells Fargo and had last been seen on March 25. 

Phone Bought with Counterfeit Money

A Lindenwood University student sold an iPhone 4G to a person through Craigslist. The person came to pick up the phone in the parking lot near the school and paid $560 in cash. The student then returned to her dorm room and noticed the cash was counterfeit. 

Stealing from a Motor Vehicle

  • A chainsaw was reportedly stolen from a service vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Randolph. The incident was reported to St. Charles Police around 1:50 p.m. April 5. 
  • Two cars parked outside the 24-Hour Fitness on Regency Parkway were reportedly broken into April 5. A purse was stolen from each vehicle. The incidents were reported to police between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
