Men Charged in String of Thefts from Cars

The same men earlier were charged with a burglary the same day.

Two men are being charged with breaking into and stealing items from five cars in St. Charles overnight on Feb. 12 and early morning Feb. 13.

Mychael W. Hutsell, 21, of the 1100 block of Caulks Hill Rd. in St. Charles County and Christian M. King, 23, of the 2700 block of Linden Place in St. Charles County broke into five cars on South Drive and Valley Drive, according to a St. Charles Police report.

The report said the two broke into the following cars:

  • A 2001 Chevrolet, taking a driver’s license and debit card
  • A 2009 Hyundai, taking a Nextar Bluetooth Solar Car kit
  • A 2004 Saturn, taking a Beltronics radar detector values at $200, a wallet with an identification, social security card, one check and credit card, and a gym bag
  • A 1993 Ford Escort taking a Nintendo Gameboy and a Mario Kart game
  • A 2001 Honda Civic, taking a Garmin Nuvi model 1490 valued at $250

Some of the items were discovered in King and Hutsell’s possession when they were arrested.

King and Hutsell also are being charged with burglarizing a home on Waterford Grove on Feb. 13 while the owners slept.
