Man Sold Painkillers to Undercover Officer in St. Charles, Police Say

A Drug Task Force officer said James A. Jackson sold him Oxycontin on three occasions in St. Charles.

A man is accused of selling Oxycontin to an undercover officer in St. Charles in late July.

James A. Jackson III, 19, of the 1100 block of Bluebird Drive in Florissant, was charged Aug. 9 with three counts of distributing a controlled substance and one count of possessing a controlled substance.

A St. Charles County Drug Task Force member said he bought Oxycontin for $250 from Jackson July 29 and July 30 at 1640 South Fifth Street in St. Charles.

He also bought Oxycontine for $300 July 31 at 2221 First Capital Drive in St. Charles, the officer reported.

On Aug. 8, the undercover officer arranged to buy Oxycontin from Jackson at 2221 First Capital Drive, and the St. Charles County SWAT team met and arrested him after a short foot chase.

Officers said they found Oxycontin in containers inside Jackson’s vehicle.

Police said Jackson has prior drug arrests.

Jackson is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $50,000, cash only.
