Man Sold Heroin to Undercover Officer in St. Charles, Police Say

The officer said Erskine Yarbrough proposed meeting for larger heroin deals.

A St. Louis man is accused of selling heroin to an undercover officer in Wentzville.

Erskine Yarbrough, 34, of the 300 block of Fillmore Street in St. Louis, was charged June 28 with two counts of distributing a controlled substance.

Wentzville Police said an undercover officer bought heroin from Yarbrough on May 16 and May 22. Both transactions were in the 1500 block of South Fifth Street in St. Charles.

The undercover officer reported that Yarbrough asked him if he wanted to go into business with him and meet for larger heroin deals. They arranged another transaction in the commuter parking lot at highways 40 and 94.

A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy pulled Yarbrough over and arrested him on an outstanding warrant for burglary in the city of St. Louis. Yarbrough had no heroin or other illegal drugs with him. He told police he did not plan to rob the officer.

Yarbrough is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $30,000, cash only.
