Man Rampages in Home and Squad Car, Police Say

A St. Charles man threw dishes, damaged furniture and screamed; when deputies arrested him, he spit at and threatened them and damaged the police vehicle, according to a report.

A St. Charles man damaged bedroom furniture, dishes and a patrol car after officers responded to the scene Monday.

Kenneth Hart, of the 3600 block of Fairview Drive in St. Charles, began throwing things throughout the house, knocking over furniture and yelling Monday, said a St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy.

His girlfriend, who owns the broken items, fled from the home because she feared for her safety, the deputy said.

As officials were arresting Hart, he spit at one deputy and threatened him.

Hart said, “All I have to do is kill one (expletive) pig and I can be with the rest of my family in prison,” according to a court document.

After deputies handcuffed him and put him in a squad car, he kicked a rear, side window and struck it with his head several times, damaging the window.

Deputies said Hart also had a bag of marijuana in his pocket.

He was charged Monday with assaulting a law enforcement officer, two counts of second-degree property damage and marijuana possession.

Hart is being held in St. Charles County jail in lieu of a $1,000 bond.
