Man Hit With Chair, Choked by Assailant, Police Say

A St. Charles resident was charged with assault and trespassing.

A St. Charles man faces criminal charges after police said he hit a St. Peters man with a chair and choked him on Sept. 12.

Kyle Crawford Gay, 20, of the 2000 block of Dawson Drive in St. Charles, was charged Sept. 24 with third-degree assault and first-degree trespassing.

St. Peters Police said Gay unlawfully entered a home in the first block of Shadow Ridge in St. Peters. He then hit the homeowner with a 20-pound chair and choked him until he nearly passed out, according to court documents.

Gay voluntarily went to St. Peters Police station for an interview afterward, police said. He was not arrested.
