Man Entices, Drugs, Sexually Assaults 13-Year-Old Girl, Police Say

St. Charles Police said William Thomas Wilburn met the girl on a 1-900 chat line and persuaded her to meet with him.

A St. Charles man faces rape and sodomy charges after he lured a girl to meet with him over a telephone chat line.

St Charles Police said William Thomas Wilburn, of the 100 block of Cole Boulevard in St. Charles County, met a 13-year-old girl on a 1-900 chat line in May.

Wilburn, 47, was charged Thursday with first-degree statutory rape, first-degree statutory sodomy and enticing a child.

Police said he persuaded the girl to meet with him and picked her up near her home in St. Louis County. He took the girl to his apartment, fondled her and injected her with an unknown drug that made her dizzy, police said.

Police said Wilburn then had sex with the girl and took photos of her while she was nude.

According to court documents, police identified the man through court records and the girl identified him in a photo lineup.

Wilburn is being held in the St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $100,000.

Wilbur also was convicted of second-degree statutory rape and second-degree statutory sodomy in 2007 in St. Francois County. That crime was against a 15-year-old girl.
