Update: Man Charged with Child Molestation

The suspect had fled to Illinois, and was the subject of an earlier search near First Baptist Church of St. Charles.

Luis Garcia-Maran, of St. Charles, was charged last week with child molestation in connection with an incident that occurred in St. Charles on Monday.

New information from court documents indicates that Garcia-Maran is accused of placing his hands on the genitals of a child less than 14 years old on June 18. Garcia-Maran's address was listed as the first block of Willow Drive in St. Charles.

He also has been identified as an illegal immigrant.

No other victims were identified or have come forward. 

St. Charles Police behind  Tuesday for Garcia-Maran, following up on a tip that he had been spotted in the area.

He had apparently left the area and gone into Illinois. He is currently in custody of Jasper County, IL Sheriff's Department. Extradition proceedings are underway. Bond has been set at $200,000.
