Man Charged for Assault on Second Street

Gerard Rubit is charged with second-degree assault for hitting a victim Sunday.

Gerard J. Rubit, 22, was charged with second-degree assault Monday after he attacked a man Sunday at the intersection of south Second Street at Madison Avenue.

According to Lt. Mike Akers with St. Charles Police Department, Rubit and another person were driving down Second Street and exchanged words with two people walking down the street. 

Rubit, whose last address was in Anchorage, AK, punched the victim in the head and face several times, causing the victim to lose conciousness, according to the probable cause statement. The victim's injuries included facial disfigurement.

Bond was set at $10,000. A case review was set for Thursday.
