Updated: I-70 Accident Cleared After Person Hit by Car in St. Charles

Traffic was backed up as several westbound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed in St. Charles because of an accident involving a person being hit by a car.

Missouri Department of Transportation have cleared a car accident on westbound Interstate 70 after a car struck a pedestrian Thursday around 3:30 p.m.

According to MoDOT, the accident was cleared shortly after 4:30 p.m.

As Valentine's Day rush hour approaches, traffic on westbound lanes of Interstate 70 is backed up after a person was struck on the highway in St. Charles, Fox 2 News reports.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. near the 5th Street exit.

Rush hour traffic on I-70, near the Blanchette Bridge, is already routinely backed up as Missouri Department of Transportation crews continue rebuilding a portion of the bridge.
