Homeless Man Charged with Burglarizing St. Charles Home

Police said the man burglarized home in his former neighborhood to support his drug habit.

A homeless man was Wednesday with burglarizing and stealing from a St. Charles home last December.

said in a report that Adam J. King, 20, and another person entered the home in the 400 block of South Cadillac Drive through an unlocked door and stole an antique watch appraised at $1,200 to $1,500 and a box of jewelry. His last known address is in the same block as the burglarized home.

King told police he pawned the items. Police located the transaction in a pawn shop database on the same day as the crime. He told police he is a drug user who steals to support his habit.

King also told police he stole firearms from his parents and sold them, according to the report.
