Highway N Crash Sends Three Teens to Hospital Sunday
Citizen groups have been campaigning for improvements to Hwy. N.
A St. Charles teen and two other teenagers were sent to the hospital Sunday after a one-car crash on Highway N.
A 2003 Mazda Protege driven by Emily R. Hockman, 17, of Wentzville, left off the roadway about a half mile west of Route Z, struck a drainage ditch and traveled into a creek at 1:40 a.m. Sunday.
Hockman sustained minor injuries and was transported to SSM St. Joseph Hospital West.
Two occupants in the car were also injured.
Jacob A. Kershaw, 19, of Wentzville also sustained minor injuries. Nicholas J. Reed, 19, of St. Charles sustained moderate injuries. Both were transported to SSM St. Joseph Hospital West.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Hockman and Reed were wearing safety devices, but Kershaw was not.
Citizen groups have been campaigning for improvements to Hwy. N, a two-lane state road that is often the site of accidents.
