Fire Destroys 16-Unit Apartment Building on Spring Avenue

One man jumped from the second-floor balcony to escape.

A fire destroyed a 16-unit apartment building located in the 800 block of Spring Avenue Saturday night. 

One person jumped from a second floor balcony, according to a post on KSDK.com. Several people were taken to a hospital for their injuries. 

Fire fighters helped several people escape from the fire.

None of the 16 apartments is inhabitable. The American Red Cross was there to help three people or families who needed a place to stay. Volunteers also helped providing water and food to people displaced and to emergency responders.
