The Missouri Highway Patrol has confirmed a single-car has resulted in one fatality on the Blanchette Bridge in late Wednesday, KMOV reports.
According to the report, a tractor trailer was involved, but details of the accident are still unclear at this time. The driver's name is not yet known.
Fox2 News reports the driver was killed in the accident, just after 8 p.m.
Lane closures are expected in the west bound lanes till the investigation is completed.
The accident is the second in two days on the bridge.
On Tuesday, a multi-car accident sent seven people to the hospital—one 10-year-old girl with moderate injuries.
In the Tuesday crash, both vehicles were traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 when one of the cars changed lanes, striking the front of the second car. Both cars then struck the left concret median barrier and one of the cars swerved to the right, crossed all lanes of traffic and struck the right concrete barrier head on while the other car overturned several times.
