Burglar Threatened to Shoot Homeowner Who Grabbed His Partner, Police Say

The 17-year-old man and his juvenile co-defendant were caught and identified later, Florissant Police said.

A Florissant homeowner grabbed a juvenile who was trying to leave his home through a window while carrying a television Oct. 29 in the 3000 block of Blackwood Drive. Another man leaned inside the window and threatened to shoot the homeowner if he did not let the juvenile go.

Ronnell Bryant, 17, of the 2800 block of Countryside in Florissant, was charged Tuesday with first-degree burglary and third-degree assault.

The homeowner later identified Bryant and the juvenile, Florissant Police said. The juvenile also has been charged.

Bail for Bryant was set at $35,000.

I hear you, KD. I think that those who don't figure out a way to fly straight probably often end up in prison eventually too.

You make a good point about the parents themselves being in prison, E. But I do think that sometimes the parents are just too distracted by other things in their lives to do what they need to for their kids--it's partially a matter of priorities, in my opinion.

Ryan, I think a lot of people probably feel like you do about this one.

Ken, for the sake of those of us who are law-abiding citizens, I really hope the punishment fits the crime.

I don't disagree in the very least, I agree with you 100%. What I cannot get past is a confessed arsonist getting probation and a $1000 fine.
