Burglar Found Sleeping in St. Charles Office, Police Say

The man broke into offices in the 400 block of North Second Street by breaking a window, police said.

A man was found Wednesday, sleeping in offices at 424 North Second Street in St. Charles.

Sean Skaggs, 21, of the 500 block of Morgan Street in St. Charles, was charged Wednesday with first-degree burglary.

St. Charles Police said Skaggs broke glass on the building’s front door and wandered through second-floor offices while someone was working on the first floor. He stole a drink from a second-floor refrigerator and attempted to steal a computer battery backup system, police said.

Officers found Skaggs sleeping in one of the second story offices.

Bail was set at $10,000.
