Deaf generation(s)?

At the Little Hills Festival we went to hear the Air Force Band. Beforehand recorded music was playing that was so loud as to be injurious to normal hearing. I asked the person manning the sound board to turn it down.  He looked at me as if I had two heads and did nothing. We listened to two pieces from the band and did not care for it and left to peruse the rest of the Festival. We could hear the performance where ever we were on Main Street, and that evening after we returned home we could hear the sound from this venue in our home 1.5 miles away in our house south of I70...with the windows closed. Last night we could hear the performance from the Verizon Amphitheater, almost 2 miles away, again with our windows closed, and with the stage facing away from us. How loud does the sound need to be before we have a "100 what? society"?
