ASWL - Cookies from the Heart (A Baking Group Sending Cookies to U.S. Military Troops Overseas

Baking has always been my passion.  Back in November, myself and a few co-workers baked over 250 dozen cookies and sent the cookies and other donations to troops overseas and to the K9s for Warriors (wounded warriors).  I work with a few ladies that have sons who are serving in the U.S. military, and they are deployed overseas.  I loved the combination of baking and helping out the troops who are serving our country.

We decided to continue to bake for the troops in the new year.  I contacted the trustee of our subdivision to see if I could get ladies in our area interested in joining our baking group.  At this time, we only had a few ladies in our group.  In January, an article was posted in the O'Fallon Patch requesting additional bakers for our baking group.  I received responses from so many ladies.  I came across a local non-profit organization called A Soldier's Wish List (ASWL).  ASWL sends requests to the U.S. Military groups.  Our loved ones can make special requests on their website (www.asoldierswishlist.org).  ASWL sends letters, candy, and even sometimes microwaves to our soldiers serving overseas.  I asked the founder of ASWL (Juliean Najar) if we could be ASWL's baking group.  I explained to her that I had over 30 ladies now on my baking list who were eager to start baking for the troops.  Julieann loved the idea.  We chose the name Cookies from the Heart, so now our group name is ASWL - Cookies from the Heart.

If you are interested in making a monetary donation to help our group ship cookies overseas (shipping can be quite expensive), you can either donate on ASWL website (please mention our group name (Cookies from the Heart) while donating online, so donations come to our group or checks can be made payable to ASWL, and please mention our group name in the memo portion of your check.  Checks can be mailed to:
