School of Business Presents Entrepreneurship Week

Events include Mike Matheny, Daymond John, and Mike Veeck

The Lindenwood University School of Business and Entrepreneurship will present its inaugural Entrepreneurship Week Nov. 11-16 on the university’s St. Charles campus. Events, which are intended to provide information and encouragement from a variety of perspectives for current and future entrepreneurs, will include speeches from Cardinal Manager Mike Matheny, FUBU Clothing CEO Daymond John (who is featured on ABC television’s Shark Tank), baseball executive Mike Veeck, and several others.

The following is a full schedule of Entrepreneurship Week events:

Monday, November 11, 7 p.m. - Hyland Arena - St. Louis Cardinal Manager, Mike Matheny - “Competing with an Edge” - Ticket required for admission - Free tickets for student, faculty and staff will be available Nov. 8 and 11 during lunch at Evans and Spellmann Dining Halls. A limited number of free tickets will be available to the public, starting Monday, October 28, at the J. Scheidegger Center Box Office (2300 West Clay Street, St. Charles, MO 63301). Box Office hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. First-come, first-served; no phone reservations; limit four per person.

Tuesday, November 12, 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. - Dunseth Auditorium, Harmon Hall - Sport Management Career Symposium; Jodie Cunningham -St. Louis Rams; Bob Ramsey - 101.1 ESPN Radio; With additional featured sports industry presenters.

Wednesday, November 13, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. - Dunseth Auditorium, Harmon Hall - Ethical Sports Entrepreneurship: A Panel Discussion.

Thursday, November 14, 7 p.m. - Bezemes Family Theater, J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts - Lindenwood University Speaker Series - Daymond John, CEO of FUBU Clothing and Investor on ABC Television’s Shark Tank - “Fundamental Keys for Business and Personal Success” - In addition: Student and Local Entrepreneur Pitch Contest - $500 cash prize to each student and local entrepreneur winner. Free tickets required; available at J. Scheidegger Center Box Office, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Friday, November 15, 4 – 6 p.m. - Pfremmer Family Patio, Harmon Hall - Small Business Showcase and Parking Lot Party; Barbecue and Bands - Come meet and greet local business owners. Dine on barbecue and enjoy the sounds of the LU student band Flight 21.

Saturday, November 16, 1 – 4 p.m. - Dunseth Auditorium, Harmon Hall - Entrepreneurship in Sports and Entertainment - Featuring Baseball’s Fun Genius Mike Veeck and Award-Winning Television and Circus Star Steve Smith. Presented by the Duree Center for Entrepreneurship.
