St. Charles Patch has a round up of holiday events happening in 2011.

St. Charles Patch has rounded up a range of holiday events happening in and around St. Charles so you can plan your holiday season in advance. Look for a round up of music events, theatrical events, musical events and events for children in the next week.

Ongoing Events and Festivals:

Head to Main Street St. Charles to meet a cast of Christmas characters ranging from Jack Frost to Santa Claus. Festival hours are 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays; noon to 5 p.m. Sundays and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Watch a Santa Parade at 1:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Get your photo taken at the tourism center from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Complimentary Carriage Shuttle is available on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This display of trains depicts a Victorian winter scene, circus scene, Katy coal train, Union Pacific Big Boy, Polar Express and more. Admission is $2 for adults. Find it at 222 N. Main Street. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and Jan. 7.

Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride, try freshly-roasted chestnuts around the bonfire in the town square, sing Christmas Carols in the church and then head to the children's library for activities. Event runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 2 and 9.

: Visit the Historic Daniel Boone Home and Boonefield Village for a candlelight tour Dec. 2, 3, 9 or 10. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. the last ticket is sold at 9 p.m. Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children. The Daniel Boone Home is decorated with 19th century decorations and brought to life with thousands of candles and lanterns.

Nov. 28-Dec. 4

  • _ Several North Main businesses host a wine tasting from local restaurants at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 30. One hundred tickets are available. Cost is $10.
  • See "A Christmas Carol" at Lindenwood University at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1-3. Cost ranges from $10 to $18.
  • Stop by the   Dec. 3 and 4 at the Foundry Art Centre for art and gifts made by Missourians.
  • , Dec. 3. The Christmas Bazaar will run 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the children's party runs from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Both will be at the New Town Hall.
  • in St. Charles on Dec. 3 at noon will have vendors from Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Stella and Dot, 31 handbags, Tastefully Simple, Lemongrass lotions and Usborne Books.
  • will be from 9-10:30 a.m. Dec. 3 Bring home cookies and treats for $6 a pound.
  • will take place at 6 p.m. Dec. 3. Bring your candles, luminaries, lanterns and flashlights and join in a procession that has been a Spanish tradition for centuries.

  • at Baue Funeral Homes in St. Charles will  take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 at the St. Charles location on Jefferson Street and at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Baue Cave Springs location and 7 p.m. from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Make holiday decorations and enjoy cookies. Event will be  Dec. 13 at the Baue O'Fallon location.
  • ___ from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 7. Holiday crafts and activities will be available from 5-8 p.m. 
  • will be Dec. 7 and 14.
  • _will take place at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School. Call for tickets, 636-946-2656.
  • will perform at the Foundry Art Centre at 8 p.m. Dec. 9.
  • Sign up for the down Main Street St. Charles Dec. 10. Deadline to register for the event is Nov. 23- no onsite registration is permitted. Registration fees are $35. 
  • is a theatrical production that allows visitors to experience Nazareth and Bethlehem. The event is at Harvester Christian Church from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 8 and 9 and from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 10 and 11. 
  • St. Charles West Bands will host an Arts and Crafts Fair at 9 a.m. Dec. 10. 
  • Breakfast with Santa will be held at Blanchette Memorial Hall at 9 a.m. Dec. 10. Cost is $8. 
  • production, a musical production that will follow a chili and soup supper. Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 10. 
  • featuring choirs from all of the district schools will be from noon to 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at Lindenwood University's J. Scheidegger Center.

Dec. 12-18

  • Mrs. Claus will tell the traditional story at First Missouri State Capitol Historic Site from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 18.
  • will be at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 7 and 14.
  • St. Charles Municipal Band presents its at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 at 400 N. Kingshighway. 
  • See a performance of at the St. Charles Community College at 7 p.m. Dec. 16 and 17. Cost is $8.Catch a performance of at J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts at 8 p.m. Dec. 17. Tickets are $24.
  • Head to the First Missouri State Capitol for a Dec. 18 at 8 p.m. The Buckhannon Brothers will perform old-time mandolin and fiddle music that's indigenous to Missouri. 
  • Sing traditional with members of First United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Dec. 18. Afterward, enjoy hot chocolate sponsored by the Boy Scouts.

Dec. 19-25

  • The First Missouri State Capitol will open its doors from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in a event Dec. 21 and 23. Listen to costumed interpreters share the history of Missouri's early statehood.
