St. Charles County Halloween Events

Oct. 6-12

Not So Scary Stories, Story Hour
Stop by the Kathryn Linnemann Library branch at 10 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays in October for not so scary halloween stories for kids ages 3 and up. 

St. Charles hayrides 

St. Charles Parks and Recreation will have hayrides this fall on select dates. The hayrides start at DuSable Park at Blanchette Landing and continue through the Eco Park Trail. Guests will roast hot dogs and s'mores and enjoy chips and sodas. Hayrides can be booked with a max of 25 people per wagon. Hayrides start at 6 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. and last two hours. The hayrides are offered Oct. 11, 12. Cost is $275 a wagon. Call (636) 949-3372 to register. 

Fall Fest 5k and Costume Contest
Participate in the O'Fallon 5k race Oct. 12 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. The race starts at the O'Fallon Municipal Centre. The annual fall festival and craft bazaar opens at Civic Park at 10 a.m. Registration for the race is online at www.fleetfeetstl.com


Oct. 13-19

Not So Scary Stories, Story Hour
Stop by the Kathryn Linnemann Library branch at 10 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays in October for not so scary halloween stories for kids ages 3 and up. 

Halloween Craft
Preschool age children are invited to make spooky crafts at Library Express at Discovery Village from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 15.

Teen Halloween Party
Teens can head to Library Express at WingHaven for a halloween party Oct. 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wear a costume and participate in a costume contest, watch scary movies, eat snacks and play games. 

Haunted Park Hunt
O'Fallon will host a Haunted Park Hunt on Friday night. This scavenger hunt for is for adults (ages 21+) from 7-10 p.m. Oct. 18 in Dames Park. This fast-paced event in O’Fallon’s most haunted park gives two-person teams a chance to compete to be the first in deciphering clues. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams that tally the most points. The cost per person is $15 for O’Fallon residents and $18 for non-residents. Participants must register in advance no later than October 12, and sign up individually instead of as a team. Register online at www.ofallon.mo.us/ParksandRec; select “Programs,” then “Special Events.”

Pumpkin Picnic
Kids ages 2 to 12 are invited to dress in halloween costumes for the pumpkin picnic from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at Fort Zumwalt Park. Cost is $10 for O'Fallon residents and $12 for non-residents. Kids will eat hot dogs, pick a pumpkin, go on a hayride and listen to spooky stories. Advanced registration is required.

Halloween Carnival
This halloween carnival will be held at the HES operations building at 135 Ecology Drive, behind Recycle City. The event is from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 19 and will include halloween games, dinner, hayrides and more. Cost is $5 for each adult and child attending. 

O'Fallon Fall Fest Street Dance
Dance to the music of Trixie Delight performing rock and roll hits from the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s and now. Concessions available for purchase. Event is from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 11 at O'Fallon City Hall.

Oct. 20-26

Halloween Party in the Park
The Lake Saint Louis Parks and Recreation Department and Lake Saint Louis Mother's Club welcome everyone to the family-friendly event. Events include hayride, inflatables, DJ, balloon sculptures, flashlight egg hunt. Kids in a costume will be entered into a raffle for more prizes. Event is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at Founders Park.

Halloween Spooktacular on Ice
The St. Peters Rec Plex North Ice Rink will host a costume party on ice Oct. 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. The night includes a DJ, candy, prizes, games and a costume contest. Registration starts Oct. 1 at the Rec Plex. 

Trunk or Treat at Duchesne High School

Grade school students are invited to the Duchesne High School's Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday. Enjoy face painting, snacks, activities, crafts and candy at Duchesne High School, 2550 Elm St, St. Charles, from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 26.

Please Remain Calm... (Zombie Play)
Carole Lanham, O'Fallon native, wrote an original play which will be done by O'FallonTheatreWorks from 8 to 10 p.m. Oct, 25-27 and Nov. 1-3 at O'Fallon Municipal Centre. Get tickets here.


Oct. 27-31 

Not So Scary Stories, Story Hour
Stop by the Kathryn Linnemann Library branch at 10 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays in October for not so scary halloween stories for kids ages 3 and up. 

Pumpkin Carving for kids 5-10

Children can design and carve a jack-o'-lantern to take home. Kids also get to participate in fall crafts and make a snack. This takes place Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 26 at the Webster Park Community Building. Cost is $15. Register here.

Pumpkin Carving Exhibit and Demo
Visit the Historic Heald Home at Fort Zumwalt Park in O'Fallon from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 27. Cost is $2 per person, pay at the door. Check out intricately carved pumpkin masterpieces created by artist Marion Nichols, also known as the Snowflake Lady. She will demomstrate her carving skills.

Halloween Happenings
Wentzville Parks will host an event at Progress Park from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 27 for Wentzville residents. Costumed kids ages 1 to 10 can play games and enjoy bounce houses. Cost is $4 the day of the event and $2 or two canned food items in advance. Pre-registration is required. 

Halloween Spooktacular
St. Charles Parks and Recreation will host a halloween party Oct. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Hall at Blanchette Park. This free event includes a haunted house, hayride and games. 

Be Safe on Halloween
St. Charles County Ambulance District will provide a special program on Halloween Safety. Tour a real ambulance on the library parking lot, hear about safety, listen to a story and get a Halloween Glow Bracelet. This event is scheduled at 10 a.m. Oct. 28 at Middendorf-Kredell Library Branch, 10 a.m. Oct. 29 at Kathryn Linnemann Library Branch, 2 p.m. Oct. 29 at Kisker Road Branch, 10 a.m. Oct. 30 at Spencer Road Branch. 

Halloween Symphony Concert
St. Peters residents can see the St. Charles Symphony in a special spooky Halloween concert on Oct. 29 at the St. Peters Cultural Arts Center. Musicians will be in costume, and kids who don costumes will receive special treats.

Boo for Twos
Middendorf-Kredell Library branch will host a boo for twos story hour for children on Halloween, Oct. 31 at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Children are invited to wear their costumes. 

Trick-or-Treat on Main Street
In St. Charles, kids 12 and younger in costumes are invited to trick-or-treat on Main Street from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31
