How Green Is St. Charles?

Does St. Charles make it easy for you to live an earth-friendly lifestyle? What do you wish was different?

Towns across the country are getting new recycling centers, giving away rain barrels and installing parking meters with solar panels. Here at Patch, we want to know: What makes St. Charles green?

One thing St. Charles does to make the city green is encouraging recycling. The city collects recyclables once per week from the a recycling cart. Republic Services provides either a 95 gallon, 65 gallon, or 35 gallon recycle cart. The service day will vary depending upon your address and all containers must be accessible and ready for service by 6 a.m. on the assigned service day. All of your items can be placed in just one bin, and the charge for recycling is already included in the monthly trash bill.
