SSM Urgent Care giving free seasonal flu vaccinations on Nov. 19

SSM Urgent Care at St. Joseph Medical Park is offering FREE seasonal flu vaccinations for anyone ages three and older.

Vaccines will be given by appointment between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19. Call 1-866-SSM-DOCS (776-3627) to schedule an appointment.

Since the available vaccines are injection only (no Flu Mist), attendees are asked to wear appropriate clothing for easy access to their upper arms. There is a limited supply of preservative-free vaccines for pregnant women only.

The 2011-2012 flu vaccine, which is good for one year, will protect against three influenza viruses that research indicates will be the most common during the flu season. For community members who have not yet received a seasonal flu vaccination, the SSM Urgent Care clinic may be one of the last opportunities to get a free vaccination.

Information about the seasonal flu, the vaccine and the clinic can be found at ssmhealth.com/flu. For additional questions, call 1-866-SSM-DOCS (776-3627).
