Free Electronics Recycling

The City of St. Charles in sponsorship with WITS, Inc. will host a free monthly Electronic Recycling Event available to all area businesses and residents in St. Charles County, as well as those in Lincoln and Warren counties. Although the service is free, donations are requested to defray defray recycling costs. WITS will also offer free pick-up services the third week of every month for local businesses with large quantity items, as well as special services for elderly or physically challenged residents who require assistance.

Suggested items for recycling include computers, monitors, cables, office/business equipment and machinery, phones, clocks, televisions, VCRs, stereos, cameras, CDs, VHS tapes, computer software, home electronics, blenders, toasters, irons, washing machines and dryers, dishwashers, furnaces, hot water heaters, home medical equipment, lawn mowers, tools, air conditioners, refrigerators, humidifiers, electrical equipment, power supplies and car batteries.

Unacceptable items for recycling include tires, wood furniture, other wood products, paint and paint cans, and household and industrial chemicals.
