St. Charles County Parks Hosts Off-Leash Dog Festival on Sept. 21

The St.
Charles County Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating its 10th annual Paws
in the Park
off-leash dog festival on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m.
– 2 p.m., at Broemmelsiek Park, 1615 Schwede Rd., Wentzville, 63385 (off of
Highway DD/Winghaven Blvd.). Pet lovers from across the region will attend this
fun, free off-leash dog festival that's packed with contests, prizes, sponsor
giveaways, and K-9 and obedience skills demonstrations. Admission is free with
a dog food/pet supply donation. All donations benefit Five Acres Animal Shelter
and St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center.



Enjoy
special appearances and exiting demonstrations by Gateway DockDogs, St. Charles
County Sheriff K-9's and Infinitepawsibilities Training! Let your furry friend
compete in a game of Bobbing for Biscuits, the Dog Treat Toss, Cake Walk or
agility course. Game tickets are six for $5. Winners of the Best costume, Best
Trick, Fastest Ball Retrieval from Pond, Best Dog/Owner Look-Alike and Best
Kisser will be awarded commemorative medals during the event.

Puppy Pet Spa, PetCo, Westinn Kennels, First State Bank, Lady Bug Snow Cones,
Harper’s Doggie Daycare, The Complete Dawg, Club K9, Hawk Ridge Family
Chiropractic, Rescued Racers, Tender Care Animal Hospital, Sebastien’s Pet
Salon, the Guardians Auto Club, and more!

“Paws in
the Park has grown to be one of St. Charles County’s most popular programs of
the year,” said Parks Director Bettie Yahn-Kramer. “And Broemmelsiek Park’s
Off-Leash Dog Area was recently voted Best Dog Park in the region.”
