Veteran's Day

The joint St. Charles City/County Veteran's day commemoration will be held at the St. Charles City Veteran's Memorial, Bishop's Landing, at the traditional "11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" which signifies the time the armistice was signed ending World War One. The St. Charles Municipal Band will begin the event with a patriotic musical prelude at 10:45 AM. St. Charles Mayor Sally Faith and St. Charles County Director of Administration Chuck Gross will give opening remarks. Keynote speaker will be VFW Service Officer Bob Murphy, a Vietnam War combat infantryman. Ruth Scheidegger will sing the National Anthem while American Legion Post 312 will provide the rifle salute honoring all veterans past and present. St. Charles Veteran's Commission Chairman, Tom Kuypers, will emcee.
