A World of Good in Your Own Backyard at Fair Trade Market--November 10 & 11
On November 10 and 11, unique handcrafted items made by artisans from more than 60 developing countries will be available for purchase at St. John United Church of Christ in St. Charles, Missouri. Items available include jewelry, accessories, home décor, musical instruments, games, clothing, toys, books, carvings, baskets, wooden boxes, coffee, tea, chocolate and more.
More and more consumers this holiday season are making a conscious choice to use their buying power to improve the lives of small farmers and artisans around the world by buying products that are “Fair Trade” certified. Fair Trade guarantees producers a fair price, ensures that products aren’t made using forced or exploitative child labor, and promotes production techniques that are environmentally friendly. What could be better than giving a gift that not only brings happiness to the recipient but also helps improve the world?
The Fair Trade Market is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 11. The market will be held at St. John United Church of Christ New Fellowship Hall, 405 South Fifth Street in Saint Charles, Missouri.
