Woman Charged With Burglarizing St. Charles Apartment

  • A St. Louis County woman is accused of burglarizing a St. Charles apartment April 6. Carrie Lynn Francis, 33, of St. Louis County, was charged Monday with second-degree burglary.

Two Men Tussle With Cops Outside Family Arena After Concert

  • Two men were arrested following a concert at the Family Arena in St. Charles April 8 after struggling with officers in the parking lot. Following the El Trono de Mexico concert at the arena, a St. Charles County Sheriff's deputy said he saw Nicolas Meza-Lopez, 24, throw a beer at a wall and shove a female Family Arena employee in the chest. The officer said he pursued him out of the Family Arena, where Meza-Lopez turned around, thumped his chest and began struggling with the officer.

Dunkin' Donuts to Open in June in St. Charles

  • Dunkin' Donuts, which was reported to be building a St. Charles location in August, will open in June at the intersection of Boone's Lick Road and 5th Street. Construction to the building, located at 530 Boone's Lick Road, is well underway with the exterior now up and beginning to take shape. 

St. Charles City Council Approves $1.2 Million Contract Renewals for Annual Road Repairs

  • The St. Charles City Council voted Tuesday night to renew contracts for the 2013 asphalt overlay and crack seal programs. A city memo noted the 2012 asphalt overlay program was 73 percent complete as of March 25 and the 2012 crack seal program was at 74 percent complete and that both projects were on hold due to weather conditions.

Hotshots Plans to Rebuild in St. Charles

  • The owners of Hotshots in St. Charles say they plan to rebuild after a fire destroyed the establishment on April 6, the Associated Press reports. Hotshots was destroyed by a fire that is thought to have started in the kitchen.
