Three Area Residents Remember Being at the World Trade Center on 9/11

Ten years later, three people from St. Louis recall Sept. 11.

Today America remembers the Sept. 11 attacks in New York and Washington D.C. Patch spoke with several people affected by the attacks.

Jeffrey Springer from Olivette, was in the World Trade Center when it was hit. He worked as a senior manager for Morgan Stanley on the day of the attack; he now works as a manager for a Philadelphia-based investment firm. Springer led his team of about 70 workers out of the North Tower and managed to be several blocks away by the time the tower collapsed. In the video he appears with his wife Ruth. Kevin Boyer of Maryland Heights was also at the World Trade Center when it was attacked. He worked as a consultant for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He descended 70 floors before he exited the building. Boyer said once the tower collapsed, the dust was so thick that he couldn't see his hand in front of his face.
