Severe Weather, Large Hail Could Hit the Area Tonight

A much greater threat for tornadoes exists today, the Weather Channel says.

St. Charles and the greater St. Louis-area is at the greatest risk to see severe weather, including tornados and large hail, today, The Weather Channel reports

Today's forecast, according to the National Weather Service, calls for a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 5 p.m. However, thunderstorms are more likely later into the night and into early Monday.

The Weather Channel says strong-to-severe thunderstorms are likely for a boundary that stretches more than 1,000 miles from the Great Lakes region southward into the heart of Texas.
