Several Businesses Close in St. Charles Due to Snow

Local businesses and organizations are moving events planned for today due to winter weather advisories.

Local schools called off school Thursday and many local businesses opted to close up shop as well as the threat of "thunder snow" loomed. 

Greater St. Charles Chamber of Commerce canceled a TechComm committee meeting during the day and a networking event in the evening because of the winter weather. The office closed for the day by 10:30 a.m. 

St. Charles County Association of Realtors opted to reschedule an awards banquet for March 7 instead of holding it tonight.

Several shops on Main Street also said they would close if the weather was bad. I Am What I Am, Provenance Soapworks and The Eye Shoppe are closed Thursday. Little O's Soda Shoppe, Grandma's Cookies and Framations Art Gallery also they might close due to the weather. 

Little Guppy Child Development Center St. Charles posted they planned to close by 1 p.m.

Foundry Art Centre canceled a book club and social hour scheduled for tonight.

Padavan's NY planned to open at 3 p.m. and offer deliveries until 8 p.m.

Habitat St. Charles closed at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Bike Stop Cafe closed at 11 a.m. Thursday.

All of the branches of the Greater St. Louis YMCA including Lindenwood University Campus YMCA and St. Charles County YMCA are closed.

The Francis Howell Board of Education meeting was canceled tonight and will be rescheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25.
